Nobel Prize in Physics to Climate Models which Do Not Model Climate

The Nobel Committee in Physics has as an act of scientific political correctness today given half of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2021 to Syukuro Manabe and Klaus Hasselmann for the physical modelling of Earth's climate quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming.

In other words, the Prize has been given to Climate Models which Do Not Model the Climate, as is shown in the following graph of Global Warming over time comparing Climate Model predictions with Real World observations (second image from Roy Spencer Global Warming) : 

These graphs must have been unknown to the Committee. What is the meaning of "reliably predicting global warming" when the prediction has nothing to do with the actually observed absence of observable global warming (0.2 C over 40 years)? Is the "reliability" that all climate models show too much warming, or that the spread is so big that even virtually no warming is included in the predictions?

Under denna massiva propaganda är det inte konstigt att några medborgare tror på budskapets allvar och med förskräckelse ser att ingenting görs. Det gäller Greta och i mer extrem form Andreas Malm som i en stor artikel på 3 sidor i SvD uppmanar till sabotage av fossila energikällor, se SvD Hyllar en Vänsterextremist.

Ju fler Andreas Malm, desto snabbare marsch in i det nya fossilfria samhället.  

Men tidskriften Kvartal har intervjuat en sansad röst. Misstag?

Strong State: Scaring or Comforting?

Swedish Social Democracy 2020: Stronger Safer

A Strong State pretending to have a mission, can use one of two basic strategies:

1. Fear-Mongering: Imminent Threat! Alarm! The State protects you.
2. Comforting: No Threat! No Alarm! The State takes care of you.

There are many examples of 1. through history collapsing to state terror. Swedish Social Democratic Society peaking in the 1950s is an example of 2.

Today we see a Swedish Social Democratic Society, which has switched mode from 2 to 1, in the name of climate alarmism set on a road supported by a new climate law to be the first fossil free welfare state by 2050 in another great leap forward, as an example of a new brave world to be followed by the entire world. 

Once that new brave world is reached, Swedish Social Democratic Society will return to mode 2. Only 30 years of great leap state terror with the end as usual justifying the means.

But is climate alarmism starting to crack already today? Yes, there are signs like this one.

Öppet Brev till Norges Statsminister om Klimatalarmismen

Nu har Klimatrealisternes Vetenskapliga Råd (där jag ingår) skickat ett brev till Norges Statsminister (se även här) om det bristande vetenskapliga underlaget för den klimatalarmism som dominerar politik och media med krav på en fossilfri värld, och som hotar med förödande konsekvenser för jordens fattiga flertal.

Ett liknande brev har tidigare skickats till Danmarks Statsminister. Dessa borde läsas även av Stefan Löven.

New Alarm: Light Bulbs Causing Dangerous Global Warming!

To the old alarm of global warming by CO2 emissions from burning of fossil fuel is now added a new alarm from the emission of light from light bulbs, issued by group of concerned climate scientists supported by UN.  Above is a map showing the light emitted by light bulbs during night over Europe. You see that there is a lot!

Basic physics tells according to the scientists that the light from light bulbs is reflected back from space onto the surface of the Earth with warming effect which is 100 times more intense than that 

from CO2. 

Immediate steps have been taken by the Swedish government to initiate a total reconstruction of Sweden into light-free society in a process to be completed by 2030. By a successive reduction by 50% per year of the energy spent on illuminating light bulbs, a completely dark society can become reality in so little as 10 years, says concerned politicians determined to do something: With this action Sweden will take the lead in a global transformation into a light-free world.  Of course that includes the light emitted by mobile and laptop screens. Sorry.

To survive the long dark winters in Sweden, light from burning wood in open fireplaces will be admitted during a period of transformation. On the other hand, in Summer time Sweden, in particular above the Polar Circle, will have an advantage of full light though the night which will give a much wanted boost to Swedish industry. It will also give Africa as an already dark continent an advantage.

Klimatalarmism: Häxprocess eller Valfråga

Moderate riksdagsmannen Jan Ericson som besökte klimatkonferensen Climate Sense 2018 har fått löpa gatlopp i parti och media, vilket Jan beskriver på sin blogg:

• Att en riksdagsledamot besöker en konferens för att lyssna på åsikter i klimatdebatten som avviker från "mainstreamlinjen" och prata med väljare blev alltså en riksnyhet. 
• Med en tydlig underton av "skandal". För mig är detta det ultimata beviset på hur enkelspårig klimatdebatten är i Sverige. Tydligare kan det knappast bli. 
• Slutsatsen är att dagens upplevelse blev en nästan skrattretande tydlig illustration av hur smal åsiktskorridoren är i klimatfrågan (det är ungefär som i migrationsfrågan för 4-5 år sedan).
• Det har nästan blivit en religiös övertygelse för många, inte minst i media. 
• Om vi hade haft häxprocesser i Sverige hade jag nog tveklöst blivit föremål för en sådan och bränd på närmaste bål. 
• Det som hänt idag gör mig bara ännu mer övertygad om att debatten måste breddas. Inget är helt svart eller vitt och det finns faktiskt nyanser även i klimatfrågan. 
• Även om man uppfattas som en kättare som svär i klimatkyrkan så fort man andas om minsta avvikelse från det som accepteras i åsiktskorridoren.

Det finns alltså en svensk riksdagsman som genomskådat klimatalarmismens natur och mekanismer. Och Jan säger att han inte är ensam: 

• Från allmänhet, moderata väljare och en del politiska kolleger (i flera partier) har det samtidigt kommit förvånansvärt många uppmuntrande ord. Min känsla är att människor överlag är betydligt mer skeptiska i klimatfrågan än vad man kan tro av media.

Vad vi här bevittnar kan mycket väl vara början på en tillnyktring från klimatalarmismens berusning som gripit politiker och media i marsch mot ett nytt skönt fossilfritt samhälle.  Jan förstår och han är inte alls ensam och folket är skeptiskt.

Jan säger vid samtal under konferensen att klimatfrågan ligger på plats 10 bland väljares preferenser och därför inte kan vara av större intresse inför valet. 

Men kanske Jans erfarenheter tvärtemot visar att klimatfrågan kan bli en vinnande profilfråga för ett parti som söker väljare. Om folket är skeptiskt så kanske också något parti skulle så vara.

Det parti som på goda grunder ifrågasätter nödvändigheten av de enorma uppoffringar som det fossilfria samhället kräver, kanske skulle få lite extra väljare.  Eller vad säger Jan?

Åtminstone, skulle man väl enligt gammal god svensk tradition kunna tillsätta en stor parlamentarisk utredning där klimatfrågan får en bred genomlysning, och speciellt den vetenskaplig grunden granskas ingående?

Nyheter24 skriver under rubriken Moderat besökte konferens för klimatförnekare:

• Jan Ericson, riksdagsledamot för Moderaterna, förklarar sin syn i miljöfrågan. Han anser att det är för mycket fokus på koldioxiden.

Läsarna kan ange om de håller med Jan eller ej med f n följande ställning Ja (57 st) Nej (1 st).

Jag tror att Jan kan ha hittat rätta valfrågan, om han vill få väljarstöd!

Groupthink of Global Warming Alarmism Shattered

Global warming alarmism from the use of fossil fules has taken its grip of Western countries in a wave of groupthink with the following characteristics, as presented in the excellent study Global Warming, a case study in groupthink by Christopher Booker, recalling the three rules formulated by Irving Janis in Victims of Groupthink from 1972:

• belief not based on reality, hard to disprove
• consensus replaces factual evidence
• chase of "deniers" or "heretics" questioning the belief.

Booker ends his study with the following prediction:

• But the groupthink driving both that belief itself and the political response to it has always essentially been centred on those countries of the Western world, which not only originated the panic over global in the first place, but have remained its main drivers ever since. 
• Indeed, it is precisely this fact which is now turning out to be the crux of the whole story.

Yes, the crux is that global warming alarmism is groupthink of people in Western countries (but not all) and certainly not in the rest of world, where the use of fossil fuels will continue to rise to lift people out of poverty.  The disintegration of the Western groupthink of global warming started with the retreat of the US from the Paris agreement, somehow emerging from a Trumpian gut feeling that the agreement was unfair. 

With a cynical (realistic) view it may seem that Western politicians once launched the fossil fuel scare with a (maybe unconscious) agenda to prevent developing countries to take their bigger share and develop and take over the world scene. 

The Paris agreement shows that this prevention does not work. Even worse, putting emission limits only for Western countries will speed up rather than slow down the decline of the West. When this understanding enters the minds of Western politicians, as it did with Trump, fossil fuel alarmism will be over (and then be replaced by a new scare with som other hidden agenda).  It may not take very long... 

Climate Sense 2018

Klimatmötet Climate Sense 2018 är nu avslutat (med mitt bidrag här). Mötet samlade över 130 deltagare från Sverige, Norge och Danmark kring den viktiga uppgiften att demaskera den koldioxid-alarmism som pumpas ut av politiker i symbios med stormedia och storfinans och som utpekar användning av fossil energi som det stora hotet mot mänskligheten.

En alarmism som format det av alla partier omfattade politiska målet av en "total omställning" till ett "fossilfritt samhälle" till år 2050, mot en bakgrund av att idag 80% av energiförsörjningen globalt utgörs av fossil energi.

Presentationerna behandlade den bristfälliga och missvisande vetenskapliga grunden för denna alarmism och det ekonomiska och samhälleliga vansinnet att söka uppnå målet, samt alarmismens rötter och profitörer.

Mediabevakningen av detta historiska möte var skral: MölndalsPosten verkade ge en liten rapportering bakom betalmur och SvDs klimatalarmistiska reporter Jenny Stiernstedt var där första dagen, men har ännu inget skrivit. För Jenny måste mötet ha upplevts som en kalldusch, om hon lyssnade.

Under alla förhållanden upplevdes mötet som en klar framgång i sanningens tecken och ett nytt möte i Oslo planeras inför nästa år.

Mötet samlade få unga, vilket kan ses som ett uttryck för den effektiva indoktrinering i klimatalarmism som skolan levererar. I detta avseende fungerar alltså skolan utomordentligt väl.

US National Security Strategy: Energy to the Poor

The US National Security Strategy released yesterday, states:

• Climate policies will continue to shape the global energy system. 
• U.S. leadership is indispensable to countering an anti-growth energy agenda that is detrimental to U.S. economic and energy security interests. 
• Given future global energy demand, much of the developing world will require fossil fuels, as well as other forms of energy, to power their economies and lift their people out of poverty. The United States will continue to advance an approach that balances energy security, economic development, and environmental protection. 
• The United States will remain a global leader in reducing traditional pollution, as well as greenhouse gases, while expanding our economy. 
• This achievement, which can serve as a model to other countries, flows from innovation, technology breakthroughs, and energy efficiency gains, not from onerous regulation.

We read that the US will counter the anti-growth energy agenda of the rich world embraced by Obama-Merkel and now also Macron along with rich Sweden (see previous post), which is detrimental to US interests as well as to those of the developing world in need of fossil fuels to lift their people out of poverty.

This is Trumps Christmas present to the world and represents a truly remarkable case of independent thinking, probably based on a gut feeling that the scientific support of CO2 alarmism is very weak and thus it is pointless and immoral to require the poor people of the world to stay poor.

Undantagstillstånd Behöver Inte Alls Utlysas!

Klimat eller CO2-alarmismen går på högvarv i Expressen och i SvD med följande budskap:

• Demokratin måste pausas för att lösa klimatkrisen.

Anders Wijkman lägger ut texten:

• Fördelen med ett centraliserat toppstyrt system är att när de väl bestämmer sig så går det ganska snabbt. Det finns ingen opposition som bråkar.

SvD fortsätter:

• En annan förespråkare för ett slags ”klimatdiktatur” är Jørgen Randers som är professor i klimatstrategi vid Handelshögskolan BI i Oslo. Hans huvudpoäng är att problemen med den globala uppvärmningen är så allvarliga och akuta att vi inte kan invänta att demokratin får ha sin gång.
• Randers slutsats blir alltså att ett elitstyre med flertalets bästa för ögonen vore den ultimata lösningen i kampen för klimatet. Men han tillstår att det är svårt att hitta ett ord som inte skrämmer folk.

Mot detta kan ställas Climate Sense 2018 som ger en helt annan bild av verkligheten: CO2-alarmismen saknar vetenskaplig grund och är ett uppdiktat hot som tjänar krafter som vill knäcka det demokratiska samhället byggt på vetenskap och humanism.

Germany's march towards a fossil free society in 2050 named The Energiewende is imploding according to a recent long detailed article in Die Welt.

Klimatvetenskapens Tragedi: Professorernas Svek

Sten Kaijser skriver på Klimatupplysningen att klimatprofessor Lennart Bengtson har fel när han påstår:

• Tragedien med klimatvetenskapen är att den till övermått drabbats av lekmannaintresse...har den allmänna debatten helt spårat ut då det stora flertalet som yttrar sig inte vet ett jota vad de vad de pratar om.

Jag håller med Sten Kaijser: Felet med klimatvetenskapen är inte "lekmannaintresse" utan tvärtom att den "professionella klimatvetenskapen" vid universitet, akademier och forskningsinstitut (som Lennart Bengtsson representerar) legitimerar en politiskt driven koldioxid-alarmism genom att fabricera underlag i form av teori och observation, som är medvetna rena falsarier. 

Detta är klimatprofessorernas svek mot mänskligheten och det är "lekmannaintresset" i bloggosfären (representerat av bl a Sten Kaijser) som uppdagat sveket. Domen över den professionella klimatvetenskap som svikit sin uppgift kommer att vara hård.

The Weak Science behind CO2 Alarmism to be Exposed

Washington Post reports:

• EPA chief pushing governmentwide effort to question climate change science.

This means that the very weak scientific support of fossil fuel CO2 alarmism will finally be exposed to the world and the dooms day bubble will collapse. All poor people can now look forward to a brighter future with improved living conditions from cheap fossil fuel without dangerous climate impact:  New York Times reports that 1600 new coal plants are about to be built around the world.

Compare with this new frontier research discovery giving new perspective and insight into human condition and global warming.

Trumps Reason to Withdraw from the Paris Accord

When President Trump declared that the US will pull out from the Paris Climate Accord, he did not repeat his earlier analysis that CO2 climate alarmism is a hoax without scientific support.

He could have done that on very good grounds, but he did not get into the question whether CO2 emissions from human activity is a real threat to the planet or not, which some climate skeptics regret.

Trump simply referred to the fact that even if all commitments of a Paris Accord where fully fulfilled, or more, the total effect according to the very dogmas of CO2 climate alarmism, would be at most 0.2 C reduction of global warming at the end of the century, that is zero effect. His logic was that it would be immoral to deliberately deny poor people access to cheap fossil fuel and keep them in poverty, if the effect on climate would be zero.

This shows the true dilemma of climate alarmism: If there is a real threat, then the planned measures to avoid catastrophe are totally inadequate and thus meaningless and then immoral by causing human suffering.  If there is no real threat, then the planned measures are even more meaningless and immoral.

This dilemma is covered up by main stream media selling climate alarmism, but comes out in the  true face of climate alarmism as expressed by Joachim Schellnhuber, climate advisor to Merkel and the Pope, asking for a "great transformation" of human civilisation. This is something completely different from buying an electrical car.  Think of that.

PS When Scott Pruitt as new Director of EPA and chief architect together with Mylon Ebell of Trumps CO2 agenda and decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord, was asked if he knew what  Trump was "thinking about climate",  Pruitt responded that frankly he did not know and that he had not discussed this question with Trump. To Pruitt and Ebell (and to the world) it is enough to know that their agenda is supported by Trump. This fits with Trump's decision to refrain from repeating his claim that climate alarmism is a "hoax" (which is impossible to prove), because the Paris Accord is meaningless, "hoax" or not.

Climate Change Programmes: Waste of Money

The Independent and The Guardian reports:

• Donald Trump's budget director calls efforts to combat climate change "waste of money".
• The budget proposal calls for deep cuts across various federal agencies responsible for different climate change actions.

This means a historic shift from inhuman irrational political ideological extremism of CO2 climate change hysteria to science, rationality and humanity.

All the people of the world can now celebrate that there is more than enough fossil energy on this planet, which can safely be harvested and utilised under controllable environmental side effects, to allow virtually everybody to reach a good standard of living (under the right politics). 

The industrial revolution was driven by coal and the boost of the standard of living during the 20th century in the West was made possible by the abundance of oil and gas.  Without CO2 hysteria this development can now be allowed to continue and bring more prosperity to the people, as is now happening on large scale in China and India.

Wasting money on actions without meaning and effect is about the most stupid thing a government can do and that will now be put to stop in the US as concerns energy production (if not on military...)

It remains for the EU to come to the same conclusion...and that will come even if the awakening will take some time...

PS Note the shift of terminology from "global warming by CO2" to the more neutral "climate change", motivated by the lack of warming in the "hiatus" of global temperatures during now 20 years. If "stopping climate change" was the issue, the prime concern would be to stop the upcoming ice age.  But that is not on the agenda, maybe because nobody believes that this is within the range of climate politics...the only thing that could have an effect would be massive burning of fossil fuel under the belief that it can cause some warming... 

Skeptics Letter Reaches the White House

The Washington Examiner reports:

• Hundreds of scientists skeptical of climate change urged President Trump on Thursday to withdraw from the United Nations framework on global warming, arguing that doing so would support the administration's pro-jobs agenda and help "people bootstrap themselves out of poverty."
• The letter asserts that carbon dioxide, considered by many scientists to be the primary cause of climate change, "is not a pollutant" at all, but a necessary ingredient for nourishing life on Earth.
• The 300 scientists, led by well-known climate researcher Richard Lindzen of the Massaschusetts Institute of Technology, sent a letter to the White House with a petition urging the U.S. to exit from the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.
• Candidates Trump and Pence promised not only to keep the U.S. out of a harmful international climate agreement, but also to roll back misdirected, pointless government restrictions of CO2 emissions," the letter read. "Dr. Lindzen and hundreds of scientists support you in this.

Scott Pruitt New Director of EPA

Trump's Pick for EPA Chief Scott Pruitt: Climate Change Dissent Is Not a Crime

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt has been sworn in to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). 

Pruitt is expected to scrap the Clean Power Plan (CPP) defining the gas of life CO2 to be a toxic to be put under severe control, as well as the Paris Agreement formed on the same premise.

Pruitt's standpoint based on science is that there is no scientific evidence that CO2 is toxic or that CO2 emission from burning of fossil fuels can cause measurable global warming. 

The work force at an EPA without CPP is estimated to be reduced from 15000 to 5000, with new main concern being clean air and water and not meaningless control of CO2.

This brings hope to the all poor people of the world that there can be energy and food for everybody!
